Social Media Management is a thriving new field with many opportunities. Businesses, health care practices, political campaigns, non-profit organizations, and many more organizations are struggling to stay on top of a changing landscape, maintain a consistent voice across all their social sites, and connect with their followers and customers on a regular schedule.
Enter the position of “Social Media Manager.” Whether part-time or full-time, contract position or employee, there is work available looking for qualified people to step into the responsibilities, and the rewards.
This Certificate Program in Social Media Management teaches you the concepts, techniques and tools to develop and manage an effective social media program. A program is bigger than any of the individual sites; a program includes understanding strategy, voice, policy, and many other elements of a business approach. A professional approach to social media is very very different from, “my nephew does our Facebook.” The course will address all the major social media sites and teach you how to integrate them with your website, blog, directories, assets, and other online resources.
Successful students will complete a full social media proposal and program in this class, using either a business or non-profit they wish to support, or a suggested business from our connections.
Taking a professional approach to managing social media is critical for small business, non-profits, a contractor or consultant, or your own business. Come ready to build real world skills from experts with over 5 years of experience, preparing you for fantastic job opportunity in an exciting new field.
The fourteen-week, 42-hour program is offered through NC State’s McKimmon Center for Extension & Continuing Education for $695. Registration is open now until the class starts.
